Dr. Gary Chiotti

Clinical Expertise: Dr. Gary Chiotti brings more than two decades of experience delivering attentive, full-spectrum podiatric care to the Hillsboro community. His background as a former athlete with firsthand experience recovering from foot and ankle injuries gives him a unique understanding of the healing journey and a deep commitment to helping patients return to their active lives.
Education & Certifications: Dr. Chiotti earned his Bachelor of Science in Physiological Sciences from UCLA and went on to receive his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. He completed a two-year surgical residency through Legacy Portland Hospitals and Kaiser Permanente Northwest, and is board-certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Affiliations: In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Chiotti is the lead podiatrist for Concentra Occupational Medical Centers in the Portland metro area. He plays an active role in education as a preceptor for the Legacy Hospitals/Kaiser Permanente Northwest Residency Clinic. He also offers emergency and inpatient services at Hillsboro Medical Center.
Outside the Clinic: Outside of work, Dr. Chiotti enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. His favorite pastimes include golfing, hiking, and traveling.

Clinical Experience: Dr Michael has always had a passion for the function of the foot and ankle which made podiatry a natural fit. As a highly competitive athlete he has been driven to explore the many functions of the foot and ankle. He loves helping his patients meet their goals of maximum enjoyment of their favorite activities whether it be a walk through Forest Park or climbing Mt Hood and beyond.
Education & Certifications: Practicing for 35 years, Dr Michael brings a wealth of experience to the Hillsboro Foot and Ankle Clinic. He is Board Certified in Foot Surgery as well as Rearfoot Reconstruction and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery. He is also Board Certified in Podiatric Medicine and Orthopedics by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
Affiliations: He is the Founder of the Legacy Portland/Kaiser Residency training program in Foot and Ankle Surgery. As Residency Director for close to 20 years, he developed the program to national prominence known for its excellence in residency training. Dr Michael also headed the Tuality Hospital Wound Care Clinic from 2014-2018 specializing in diabetic foot care. He has a passion for education and continues to be actively involved in residency training.
Outside the Clinic: Dr Michael loves spending time running the many trails that surround Portland. He was the East Coast Conference Champion in 3 miles while attending Lehigh University and was Oregon State Games Masters Champion in 1500 meters. He loves backcountry skiing, mountain climbing as well as cycling.
